Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Manage EPC substation procurement activities in coordination with Engineering and Project Execution teams.
- Possess strong technical knowledge of substation equipment across all voltage levels and awareness of approved/qualified vendors in the market.
- Prepare and issue RFQs to suppliers based on project requirements; ensure timely receipt of complete and quality techno-commercial offers.
- Plan, execute, and report project sourcing performance; support development of procurement plans, order placement, and delivery schedules to meet project timelines and cost targets.
- Coordinate with suppliers for contracting, forecasting, issue resolution, and support negotiations for rate contracts/framework agreements.
- Ensure compliance with all supplier-related processes, procedures, and company guidelines.
- Support the project execution team in resolving supplier-related operational and supply chain challenges.
- Assist in vendor technical and commercial evaluations, including review of type test certificates and other test reports.
- Support supply chain and logistics activities related to procurement and material movement.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of equipment and materials.
- Support selection of sub-vendors for equipment and materials through enquiry, evaluation, negotiation, and finalization.
- Support selection of sub-contractors for erection, design, and testing activities through enquiry, evaluation, negotiation, and award.
Requirements
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in substation EPC procurement.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and project planning tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
- Experience in managing or coordinating procurement for at least one complete substation construction/execution project.
- Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Good coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- Understanding of overall substation project costing and associated risks.
- Knowledge of substation equipment and related engineering and execution activities
