Job Description: An RMC (Ready Mix Concrete) Engineer (QC) is a vital role in ensuring the production and delivery of high-quality concrete for construction projects. This position involves overseeing quality control processes, conducting inspections, and conducting tests to ensure the concrete meets specified standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Control:
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures and standards.
- Monitor and control the quality of raw materials (cement, aggregates, water, and admixtures).
- Conduct regular inspections of the concrete production process.
- Perform tests on concrete samples to assess strength, workability, and other properties.
- Analyze test results and take corrective actions if necessary.
- Prepare and maintain detailed quality control records and reports.
- Material Testing:
- Conduct laboratory tests on concrete samples, including compressive strength, slump tests, and air content tests.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Ensure adherence to standard testing procedures.
- Site Inspections:
- Visit construction sites to monitor the quality of concrete placement and curing.
- Inspect concrete surfaces for defects and irregularities.
- Coordinate with site engineers and contractors to resolve quality issues.
- Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain accurate and up-to-date quality control documentation.
- Generate reports on quality performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards and regulations (e.g., IS codes, ASTM standards).
- Participate in internal and external quality audits.
