Engineer -Mold Engineering and Development

We are looking for an experienced Engineer – Molding Engineering & Development to support new product development, mold development and qualification, molding process improvement, mold maintenance, and technical problem-solving.

The role will work closely with Production, Quality, R&D, Tool/Mold Vendors, and other Engineering functions to ensure molds and molding processes are developed, qualified, and maintained to achieve stable production, high quality, and optimum productivity.

Key Responsibilities,

Mold Development & Qualification

· Coordinate with mold/tool vendors for the design, manufacturing, modification, and commissioning of new molds.

· Review mold designs and provide technical inputs related to manufacturability, molding performance, maintenance, and product quality.

· Plan and conduct mold trials and ensure molds meet agreed specifications and production requirements.

· Evaluate trial results and coordinate necessary mold modifications with vendors.

· Qualify new molds before releasing them for regular production.

Mold Maintenance & Reliability

· Establish and maintain preventive and corrective maintenance practices for molds.

· Monitor mold condition, maintenance frequency, and recurring mold-related problems.

· Troubleshoot mold-related defects and coordinate corrective actions.

· Maintain mold history, maintenance records, spare-parts requirements, and repair records.

· Work with the maintenance and production teams to minimize mold-related downtime and production interruptions.

· Identify opportunities to extend mold life and improve mold reliability.

New Product Development (NPD)

· Support the engineering activities for new product development from initial concept through trial, qualification, and mass production.

· Review product requirements and identify molding, tooling, and process-related requirements.

· Coordinate mold trials and product validation for new products.

· Work closely with Production and Quality teams to resolve development issues before mass production.

· Prepare and maintain NPD-related technical documentation, trial reports, and process parameters.
