Job Description
Vertiv is seeking a motivated and technically skilled
Product Engineer to join the Rack PDU division. In this role, you will take full ownership of the Rack PDU product line for the India manufacturing site, working closely with the global Rack PDU team to localize and integrate product designs for local production. You will be responsible for ensuring that all products manufactured in India meet Vertiv's global quality and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Take end-to-end ownership of the Rack PDU product line, serving as the primary technical point of contact for the India manufacturing site.
- Collaborate with the global Rack PDU engineering team to understand product design intent, specifications, and global standards.
- Lead the localization and integration of electro-mechanical designs to enable manufacturing in India, ensuring compliance with global product standards.
- Develop, maintain, and manage comprehensive engineering documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOM), assembly drawings, schematics, and manufacturing work instructions.
- Guide and support the factory team through the production ramp-up process, providing technical direction and resolving engineering issues on the shop floor.
- Conduct design reviews, failure analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturability.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including procurement, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing engineering to ensure smooth product introduction and production.
- Ensure all Rack PDU products comply with relevant international and regional safety and regulatory standards (e.g., IEC, UL, CE, BIS).
- Support product testing, validation, and certification activities as required.
- Identify and drive cost reduction and value engineering opportunities without compromising product performance or quality.
Additional / Preferred Qualifications
- Have a of 2 - 4 years of experience in a Mechanical position.
- Able to demonstrate a proven track record & understanding of installations from standard Vertiv plant (Switchgear/UPS/CRAC units/STS & busbar.
- Proven track record of providing leadership to achieve installation targets.
- Must be willing to travel and have a current passport with at least 6 months from expiring date.
- Representation of the company whilst client facing on site
- Experience using Commissioning platforms such as Compass, BIM360 & Aconex (or similar)
- Modular or skidded installation experience.
