We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical Engineer to join our maintenance team and help us achieve maximum equipment reliability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Engineer in our foundry, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our machinery and systems. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance: Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules and address emergency breakdowns promptly to minimize production downtime.
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults in equipment, perform necessary repairs, and conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrence.
- Equipment Management: Maintain and troubleshoot a wide range of foundry equipment, including:
- Molding lines (e.g., DISA machines, high-pressure molding)
- Furnaces (Induction furnaces, heat treatment furnaces)
- Sand systems (mixers, bucket elevators, pneumatic conveying, dust collectors)
- Material handling systems (EOT cranes, conveyors, pumps)
- Utility equipment
- Inventory & Documentation: Monitor and manage the inventory of critical spare parts and maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, machine performance, and repair logs.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (EHS) regulations and promote safe working practices (e.g., LOTO procedures) within the department.
- Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimize machinery performance, suggest improvements, and participate in expansion projects and Kaizen activities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-7 years of experience in a mechanical maintenance role within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment, with a strong preference for experience in an SG/CI Iron Foundry.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and the ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and manuals.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose complex equipment malfunctions.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or TCS systems for documentation and inventory management is a plus.
