About the Role:

Hilton GCC by ANSR is part of Hilton's global technology organization, enabling engineering innovation and platform development that powers Hilton's hospitality ecosystem worldwide.

We are looking for an Engineer – Java Backend to join the Enterprise Core Services team within the Technology division. This role is ideal for an early-career backend engineer passionate about building scalable APIs, solving technical problems, and contributing to enterprise-grade platforms in a collaborative Agile environment.

As part of the Core Services team, you will work closely with Technical Leads, Architects, and global engineering teams to develop and support backend services that drive Hilton's internal and customer-facing platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Java and related technologies; Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, support Testing,
• Collaborate with Technical Leads DevOps and platform teams to implement scalable and reusable development patterns.
• Participate in evolving AI-enabled engineering practices such as structured development patterns, prompt-based workflows, and reusable knowledge-driven development approaches
• Participate in code reviews and follow established engineering standards and best practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives around automation, reliability, and engineering efficiency.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• 1–5 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development.
• Good understanding of RESTful APIs and backend application development.
• Familiarity with Java frameworks such as Spring Boot/Spring MVC.
• Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Exposure to Agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Preferred Skills:

• Understanding of microservices architecture and containerization concepts
• Exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar coding assistants.
• Exposure to AWS cloud technologies and cloud-native development concepts
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems such as Git
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and shell commands
• Exposure to monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk.
