Role Overview
The Customer Application Support Engineer will be part of the Customer Applications Engineering team, providing pre- and post-sales technical support for FPGA products. This role focuses on customer success through hands-on debugging, content development, and technical enablement of customers and field teams.
Key Responsibilities
Provide pre- and post-sales technical support to customers and field teams for FPGA products, development tools, hardware platforms, and documentation
Debug and resolve customer-reported issues related to FPGA devices, tools, and reference designs
Drive issues to closure through structured debugging, ownership, and cross-functional collaboration
Develop customer-facing and internal technical collateral, including Knowledge Base articles, FAQs, Application notes, Design examples and hardware kit demos
Create and deliver training modules and/or videos for customers and Field Application Engineers on FPGA tools and IP portfolio
Continuously contributes to improving customer experience through documentation and enablement
Requirements/Qualifications:
B.Tech or M.Tech
Strong knowledge of FPGA architecture, design flow, and STA Analysis.
Hands-on experience with FPGA design flow: RTL development, synthesis, place & route, and timing closure.
Good experience in FPGA timing analysis and Static Timing Analysis (STA) concepts and clock-domain crossing (CDC) analysis.
Proficiency in HDL languages such as Verilog or VHDL.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and own customer issues from start to resolution
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience directly supporting customers in a technical role
Prior experience in working with Microchip FPGAs is plus
Experience with FPGA simulation flow, including functional and gate-level simulations.
Proficiency in TCL scripting for FPGA tool automation and constraint management.
Good knowledge of DSP fundamentals, including filters, FFT, and fixed-point arithmetic.
