Engineer I - IT Global Infrastructure Network
Summary:
The position is part of IT Global Network and Unified Communications team.
This is a 24X7 operations team supporting:
- Networking Fundamentals (Routing/Switching)
- SD WAN Solution - Preferred VMware/ Broadcom Velo cloud, but good to have knowledge/ Skillsets on the other SD-WAN products like Cisco/Aruba
- Cisco Wireless/WLC products - Cisco 5520/8510/8540/9800
- Network security Infrastructure consists of Palo-Alto Next-Gen Firewall
- Zscaler forward proxy/ ZTNA solutions like ZIA, ZPA & ZDX.
- Network/Server Load balancer products- F5/Netscaler.
- Worked extensively on Data center products Cisco Nexus
- DNS/DHCP/IPAM Solutions
- Knowledge of Cloud Networking -Azure
Engineer must be responsible for managing technical excellence within the Network Team and providing level 2 technical assistance. This role includes problem management, coordinating with clients and working issue towards resolution. Apart from this, engineer will provide 2nd line of Support for analysts, end users and delivering functions under the Enterprise Network Portfolio.
Support typically taken in the form of investigating and resolving problems, incident handling. Availability and performance monitoring, routine start-up and close-down and maintenance of operating plans and schedules. It is also good to have these individuals with an additional knowledge/experience in administering and support of Cisco voice /MS-Teams direct routing/Operator Connect technologies.
Responsibilities Include:
- Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving network, Network security and Voice issues using an end-to-end approach, engaging relevant vendors and application teams where necessary.
- Attend conference calls for major incidents,
- Communicate directly with the required stakeholders and other vendors to provide technical assistance
- Proactively identify and take ownership of issues which have the potential to impact service.
- Carry out technical root cause analysis and provide recommendations
- Detailed understanding of the Momentive's change process and risk appetite to ensure stability of the network
- Review and recommend best practices for the Network/Network security domain
Qualifications:
The following are for the role
- Bachelor's degree/ Engineering or related field or equivalent is required.
- 3-5 years of technical experience with strong knowledge on Network and Network security products mentioned (Zscaler forward proxy and Palo-Alto NGFW)
- Manufacturing or business experience with a solid understanding of business operations /processes
- Proven advanced analytical and diagnostics skills for complex networking issues.
- Excellent knowledge and practical experience of Cisco technologies and it's range of products Like Cisco Switches/Nexus etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to simplify complex issues and produce documentation to a high standard.
- Cisco/Palo Alto /Zscaler certifications
- At least 3-5 years experience of designing or troubleshooting network, Network security, load balancing products.
- Solid understanding of the ITIL framework
