DESCRIPTION:
As an Electrical Engineer I at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll be part of a collaborative team developing advanced instrumentation that helps make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. You'll work on projects ranging from laboratory equipment to analytical instruments, collaborating with R&D teams to design and optimize electrical and electronic systems. Your role will involve hands-on work with circuit design, prototyping, testing, and documentation while receiving mentorship to grow your technical expertise. This position offers excellent opportunities to contribute to meaningful projects while developing your engineering skills in a supportive environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
. Bachelor's Degree required, no prior experience required in electrical engineering
. Preferred Fields of Study: Electrical/Electronic Engineering
. Strong foundation in electrical and electronics engineering fundamentals
. Proficiency in circuit design and simulation tools
. Experience with analog and digital circuit design
. Ability to read, create and modify electrical schematics and PCB layouts
. Knowledge of testing protocols and ability to use standard test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, voltmeters)
. Experience with communication protocols (USB, RS232, Ethernet, Modbus)
. Familiarity with regulatory requirements (EMC, safety standards)
. Ability to perform component selection and BOM management
. Strong documentation skills for technical specifications and design artifacts
. Experience with SPICE modeling and circuit simulation
. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
. Strong communication and collaboration skills
. Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
. Fluency in English required
. Basic programming knowledge (C/C++) preferred
. Experience with FPGA design and HDL programming a plus
