Job Description

Position: Engineer for Design and Process Improvement

Joining the Global Design to Value (DtV) team gives you a unique opportunity to influence the portfolio of Insulation and Components Product Group within the Hitachi Energy product family. You will contribute to a methodology that emphasizes cross-functional collaboration and idea generation, driving product margin improvements. Leveraging your engineering and process expertise, you will lead and support analyses across the entire product value chain.

How You'll Make An Impact

  • Lead reverse engineering and benchmarking activities within the Design to Value (DtV) deployment for Insulation and Components Product Group. Organize and facilitate cross-functional workshops and manage and continuously improve processes while coordinating activities across designated locations.
  • Drive DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) initiatives by providing training on DFA and DFM concepts and conducting complex analyses to recommend improvements.
  • Coordinate, audit, and drive competitive product improvement efforts in collaboration with local and global teams.
  • Perform detailed product and process cost analyses with a strong understanding of cost drivers. Collect, analyse, and interpret product cost and technical data to support strategic decision-making.
  • Utilize all idea management tools within the DtV methodology to foster innovation and efficiency.

Your Background

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, product design, quality or related areas.
  • Working knowledge of new product introduction, manufacturing processes, design for manufacturability, and design for assembly -- principles of DFMA are highly desired.
  • Proved experience in Continuous Improvement and Project Management.
  • Strong command of English, enabling effective communication in an international environment.
  • Must be a team player. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
  • Strong coaching skills to provide training and development for the organization.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 20%).
