About Astrobase Space Technologies

Astrobase is a pioneering spacetech startup founded by prominent Senior ISRO scientists and IIT Bombay alumni with over 20 years of experience in designing, manufacturing, testing and flying advanced Cryogenic Launch Vehicles. Driven by a vision to make India a Space tech powerhouse, we are developing innovative launch vehicles that will transform space exploration. At Astrobase, you'll be part of a team creating history in the Indian space industry. Our goal is to become the first private space company from India to land on the moon economically.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design complete electrical and electronic systems including control, power distribution, and instrumentation networks for cryogenic and regasification facilities.
  • Prepare and review single-line diagrams (SLDs), load calculations, cable sizing, grounding, and lighting designs.
  • Develop control philosophies, cause-and-effect matrices, and detailed wiring and termination drawings.
  • Integrate PLC-based automation systems, ensuring compatibility with process control and safety requirements.
  • Able to guide site teams during installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and control systems.
  • Coordinate with instrumentation, mechanical, and automation teams for system integration and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable national and international standards, codes, and client specifications.
  • Review vendor documents for LT and HT panels, transformers, MCCs, and switchgear systems.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for electrical and control issues during commissioning or operations.
  • Manage electrical documentation, as-built drawing updates, and project close-out deliverables.

Desired Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
  • 2-3 years experience in design and execution of industrial or cryogenic systems.
  • Sound understanding of PLC systems, cabling, terminations, and control network architecture.
  • Familiarity with LT and HT panel design, transformer selection, and protection schemes.
  • Proven ability to guide multidisciplinary site teams and interface with clients and consultants.
  • Proficiency in relevant design tools and software (AutoCAD, ETAP, or equivalent).
