The Projects Engineering Group is a business entity within Grindwell Norton Limited located at Bangalore. PEG takes up engineering projects responsibility within Saint-Gobain Group in India & Abroad and also for External clients. PEG manages the projects in different business vertical viz, PEM Services, Machine Building, E&A Projects, and Environmental projects. PEG's responsibility starts from Marketing, Design Engineering activities, Customer Interaction, Budgeting support services, Procurement, Logistics, Site Construction, Commissioning and handing over and after sales support. PEG employs the state of art technology in all projects adding value to all its engineering designs keeping customer focus. PEG ensures compliance to QMS, EHS and OHSAS systems.
Position Summary
The EHS Engineer will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving the safety culture across the shop floor and office areas. The role ensures adherence to ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 standards, provides technical assistance to the EHS India team, and supports risk assessments, audits, machinery safety, and EHS-related projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety Culture & Compliance
- Drive, implement, and sustain strong safety culture across shop floor and office areas.
- Ensure compliance with statutory EHS requirements and corporate EHS standards.
- Develop and deliver safety awareness trainings, toolbox talks, and campaigns.
- Conduct daily EHS rounds and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Support and coordinate internal and external audits for ISO 14001 (EMS) and ISO 45001 (OHSMS).
- Maintain documentation, procedures, and records as per ISO requirements.
- Assist in gap analysis, corrective actions, and continual improvement programs.
- Knowledge of QMS – ISO 9001:2015 is an added advantage.
- Risk Assessment & Technical Support
- Assist the EHS India team in performing Risk Assessments (HIRA, JSA,etc.).
- Provide technical assistance for machinery safety compliance, ergonomics, and hazard identification.
- Participate in incident investigations and support root cause analysis .

- Safety improvement initiatives

III.Engineering controls for hazard mitigation.Installation/commissioning of safety systems

- Conduct regular inspections and internal EHS audits.
- Track and monitor compliance gaps and follow-up actions.

Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in EHS roles, preferably in manufacturing, construction, or engineering environments.
- Hands-on experience in incident investigation, audits, and regulatory compliance.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Safety Management, or related field.
- Certifications (Preferred)- additional advantage
- NEBOSH / IOSH
- Lead Auditor – ISO 14001 / ISO 45001
