We are looking for a Mid-Level DevOps Engineer with strong hands-on experience in
AWS,
Kubernetes (EKS),
GitLab CI/CD, and
Infrastructure as Code using OpenTofu (Terraform-compatible). You will help build, automate, and operate secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines, enabling reliable delivery across environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage AWS infrastructure using OpenTofu (Terraform-compatible), following reusable module practices and environment-based deployments.
- Design, implement, and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for microservices, IaC workflows, and deployment automation.
- Deploy, operate, and troubleshoot Amazon EKS clusters, including:
- Node groups (managed/self-managed), cluster upgrades, add-ons, scaling, and cluster security best practices.
- Implement GitOps and deployment strategies for Kubernetes using tools like ArgoCD / Helm / Kustomize (where applicable).
- Work with container tooling: Docker, image build optimization, and registry workflows (ECR).
- Implement observability: logging, monitoring, and alerting using CloudWatch, and optionally tools such as Prometheus/Grafana, OpenSearch/ELK, Datadog/New Relic.
- Manage AWS networking and security: VPC, Subnets, Route Tables, NAT/IGW, Direct Connect, Security Groups, NACLs, IAM, KMS, and secrets management (Secrets Manager / SSM Parameter Store).
- Automate operational tasks using Bash/Python, improve reliability through runbooks, self-healing automation, and incident response best practices.
- Support production operations, troubleshooting, RCA/postmortems, and continuous improvements in deployment reliability and platform performance.
- Drive cost optimization and scaling strategies across AWS and Kubernetes (right-sizing, autoscaling, cluster/node optimization).
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 47 years of experience as a DevOps / Cloud / Platform Engineer.
- Strong hands-on expertise with AWS, including services like:
- EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudWatch, ELB/ALB/NLB, Route 53
- EKS, ECR, RDS, SNS/SQS, KMS, Secrets Manager, SSM, API Gateway
- Strong hands-on experience with Amazon EKS (deployments, troubleshooting, cluster operations).
- Strong experience with GitLab CI/CD:
- Multi-stage pipelines, artifacts, caching, runners, environments, variables, templates/includes, approvals, and manual jobs.
- Strong experience with OpenTofu (or Terraform) and IaC practices: Pulumi is preferred
- State management, remote state, workspaces/environments, modules, and DRY patterns.
- Solid understanding of Linux, networking basics (DNS, TLS, routing), and debugging distributed systems.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes workload concepts:
- Deployments, Services, Ingress, ConfigMaps, Secrets, HPA, RBAC.
- Knowledge of security best practices and least-privilege IAM.
Good To Have (Preferred)
- ArgoCD / GitOps-based delivery models.
- Experience with Pulumi
- Helm chart authoring and lifecycle management.
- Autoscaling tooling: Cluster Autoscaler/Karpenter experience.
- Policy-as-code using OPA / Conftest, and guardrails for IaC/K8s.
- Experience with DR / multi-region strategies and backup/restore automation.
- DevSecOps practices: image scanning (Trivy/Snyk), secret scanning, SAST/DAST integration.
- AWS certifications: SAA / SysOps / DevOps Engineer.
