Engineer Civil Design - For KIPIC - Kuwait

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Reviews and performs engineering studies and designs of plant projects, reviewing specifications, designs, calculations, and drawings prepared by contractors and supervises field activities.

B. Prepares scope of work, specifications, bill of quantities / materials & engineering drawings for related plant modification projects.

C. Prepares tender documents for jobs to be contracted out. Attends plant tender meetings, checks contractor invoices and revises as required.

D. Analyzes and evaluates tender offers and all engineering proposals. Participates in the preparation of specification for projects / tenders and contract negotiations.

E. Follows up work performed by Draftsman and carries out site visits as required. Provides key instructions / sketches to drafting personnel to enable them to prepare detailed and complete drawings. Checks drawings and makes corrections as required.

F. Studies and analyzes problems associated with engineering aspects and recommends corrective measures. Provides support to plant groups during troubleshooting.

G. Expedites and coordinates materials procurement for plant projects. Participates in Factory Acceptance Testing for plant equipment in order to conform to Company engineering design specification requirements.

H. Conducts routine follow ups of construction activities associated with plant projects. Provides advice and assists in rectifying minor or major problems.

I. Maintains/updates records of all projects and engineering works related to the plant as per established Quality Control/Quality Assurance procedures.

J. Prepares project implementation schedules for all phases of the work (study, design, procurement, and construction).

K. Assists during emergencies / major incidents when called upon. Participates in plant risk assessments and HAZOP meetings. Remains on call as and when required.

L. Keeps abreast of industry practice, technological advancements and developments, new methods, equipment, and materials related to engineering design.

M. Assists in working towards development and standardization of company-wide engineering practices and standards related to design engineering.

N. Completes tasks in accordance with engineering practices and established Company policies/guidelines.

O. Performs other related duties such as participating in committees, attending meetings, preparing reports, coordinating with other Groups, adhering to Company HSEMS rules/regulations and operating PC.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

A. Bachelor's degree in civil engineering

B. 8 years experience in design and project engineering activities, preferably in refineries or petrochemical plants.

C. The candidate should have good command over written and spoken English and shall have the ability to prepare reports letters etc. and communicate with others.

D. Shall be aware of basic refinery safety aspects and use of Personal Protective Equipment.
