Role Overview
Qualcomm is looking for a skilled Engineer with 1+ years of experience to contribute to the development and optimization of AI/ML software platforms. This role focuses on ML runtime integration, model post‑processing, and inference services, with exposure to LLM and VLM enablement across edge and embedded platforms.
The ideal candidate is passionate about building production‑quality ML systems, working close to the platform layer, and optimizing AI workloads for performance, scalability, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Integrate and optimize ML runtimes such as ONNX Runtime, TensorFlow Lite, LiteRT, ExecuTorch, or similar frameworks
Develop and maintain post‑processing pipelines for ML models (vision, multimodal, or text-based)
Build and integrate microservices for AI inference using REST/gRPC frameworks
Assist in enabling and evaluating LLM and VLM inference workflows
Optimize inference pipelines for latency, memory usage, and performance
Debug issues across ML runtime, framework, and application layers
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including model developers, platform engineers, and QA teams
Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code
Required Qualifications
1+ years of industry experience in AI/ML software or systems development
Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python
Hands-on experience with at least one ML inference runtime
Experience implementing post‑processing logic for ML models
Basic understanding of LLMs, VLMs, and modern inference pipelines
Experience working on Linux-based systems
Familiarity with microservices architecture and API-based designs
Good debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to edge AI or embedded systems
Experience with multimedia or vision pipelines
Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
Understanding of model optimization techniques (quantization, precision trade-offs)
Experience or interest in hardware-accelerated ML platforms
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
