Energy Engineer

0-2 years experience | 2–3 openings | On-site at IIT Ropar, Punjab | Pan-India field work

The Center of Research for Energy Efficiency & Decarbonization (CREED) at IIT Ropar is hiring Energy Engineers for the KISEM IIT Ropar project. KISEM is the pan-India Kotak–IIT Madras Save Energy Mission, a Kotak Mahindra Bank CSR-funded initiative across 10 IITs. KISEM IIT Ropar has completed 80+ energy audits, and KISEM as a whole has completed 500+ across India.

What We Expect

Your role

  • Conduct on-site energy audits of electrical and thermal systems in industrial plants across India
  • Take field measurements with power analysers, thermal imagers, ultrasonic flow meters and flue gas analysers
  • Analyse plant data and electricity bills to identify Energy Conservation Measures, with accurate savings and payback calculations
  • Prepare clear, client-ready audit reports and presentations
  • Support implementation follow-up and post-implementation savings verification
  • Work with plant managers, faculty and senior energy auditors

Who you are

  • B.E./B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (M.Tech in Energy is a plus)
  • 0–2 years of experience. Freshers with strong fundamentals are welcome.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative aptitude, and quick to grasp new systems
  • Strong basics in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics and electrical engineering
  • Good Excel skills and clear technical writing in English
  • Willing to travel across India for extended field assignments
