Project Role : Emulation Engineer

Project Role Description : Set up and configure emulation platforms such as Zebu, Veloce, Palladium to validate hardware designs and accelerate software testing before tape-out. Debug issues, run extensive test scenarios, and ensure the emulated system accurately mirrors the final products behavior. Collaborate with design and verification teams to optimize performance and reduce time-to-market for complex chip designs.

Summary:

As an Emulation Engineer, a typical day involves setting up and configuring advanced emulation platforms to validate hardware designs and speed up software testing prior to final production. The role requires running comprehensive test scenarios and troubleshooting any issues that arise to ensure the emulated system behaves consistently with the intended final product. Collaboration with design and verification teams is a key part of the day, focusing on optimizing system performance and contributing to reducing the overall development timeline for complex chip designs. This dynamic environment demands attention to detail and proactive problem-solving to support successful project outcomes.

• Expected to perform independently and become an SME.
• Required active participation/contribution in team discussions.
• Contribute in providing solutions to work related problems.
• Assist in documenting emulation processes and test results to support knowledge sharing within the team.
• Support junior team members by providing guidance and sharing best practices to foster their professional growth.
• Continuously monitor and improve emulation platform efficiency to enhance testing throughput.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies.

• Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Emulation.
• Experience with configuring and managing emulation platforms such as Zebu, Veloce, and Palladium.
• Strong debugging skills to identify and resolve issues within emulated hardware environments.
• Ability to design and execute extensive test scenarios to validate hardware and software integration.
• Familiarity with hardware design principles and verification methodologies.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and convey technical information clearly.
