Job Description

How much do you really know about what makes a company a great place to work

You've probably come across employer brands without even calling them that.

The careers page that made you want to apply. The LinkedIn post that gave you a sense of what life

inside a company might actually be like. The employee story that made an organisation feel a little

more human.

But behind all of that is a bigger question: what makes people choose an organisation in the first

place

That's where we come in.

At Carpediem, we work at the intersection of Brand, People & Culture. We help organisations

understand what makes them tick, what their people value, what attracts talent to them and what

makes people stay.

Then we turn those insights into employer brand strategies, employee experiences and stories that

help the right talent see what makes an organisation worth choosing.

And we're looking for an intern who wants to get a closer look at how all of this comes together.

Who might you be

Someone who is curious about people, brands and communication, and wants to understand what

happens when the three come together.

You might be studying psychology, communications, marketing, management or something else

entirely. What matters more to us is that you like asking questions, figuring things out and making

sense of what you find.

You don't need to know Employer Branding inside out. That's what the internship is for.

Our remote setup also allows us to welcome people who may benefit from a more flexible working

environment, including people with physical disabilities and neurodivergent candidates. If you're

curious, passionate about learning and excited to contribute, we'd genuinely love to hear from you.

You should, however, be someone who can write clearly, spot a good idea, pay attention to the

details and get things moving when there are several things happening at once.

What might a typical day look like

There isn't really a typical one. Depending on what needs solving that day, you could find yourself:

Going down research rabbit holes to understand a client, their industry, their competitors, their

talent landscape and whatever else seems relevant. Helping consultants understand what makes

an organisation distinctive as an employer.

Working on content for employer brand campaigns and social media, and figuring out what might

actually make the right people stop scrolling. Helping plan and execute online and offline talent

branding initiatives.

Working with different stakeholders to get campaigns, content and other moving pieces across the

line. Researching trends across industries, talent and social media to bring new perspectives into

client work.

Helping consultants build employer brands for multiple clients, across different industries and

problems. And yes, there will be slides. Quite a few.

What would make you good at it

Employer Branding requires you to switch perspectives quite often.

One moment, you're thinking like someone considering a job. The next, like the organisation trying

to attract them.

You might be looking at a piece of communication as a brand person, then thinking about it from

an employee's perspective. You might spend an hour writing three lines, only to realise that the

first version was probably better.

So if you're someone who is equally interested in people, words, ideas and why things work, you

may fit right in.

It would also help if you:

  • Are naturally curious and enjoy figuring out the why behind things
  • Can take a lot of information and make sense of it
  • Write clearly and communicate confidently in English
  • Have an eye for brands, content and communication
  • Are interested in social media and how different platforms shape what people notice
  • Have an eye for detail and care about getting things right
  • Are comfortable working with different people and keeping track of moving pieces
  • Are proactive and willing to take ownership rather than wait to be told what to do
  • Don't mind learning something new because a client problem demands it

Why Carpediem

For starters, pigeonholes are in short supply here.

You'll get to work across industries, clients and problems, and see different sides of Employer

Branding, from research and Employee Value Proposition articulation to talent communication,

campaigns and activation.

You'll work closely with consultants and get to see how a piece of work moves from a question, to

research, to an insight, to an idea, and eventually into something that people can actually see and

experience.

You'll also get exposure to both the strategic and executional sides of the work. There will be

research to do, ideas to develop, content to write, people to coordinate with and, inevitably, a few

things that need fixing along the way.

We work in a flat environment, which means there is room to ask questions, contribute ideas and

take ownership of your work as you grow.

The learning curve can be steep. Fortunately, the view gets interesting rather quickly.
