Role Overview
As an Employee Relations Senior Specialist, we will rely on your expertise in applicable employment law and best practices to interpret and apply GOC policy to provide consultative services to aid in the resolution of workplace concerns. Your responsibilities include conducting thorough intakes with GOC'ers with care and empathy while keeping the GOC'er experience and an intersectional lens in mind, identifying the policies implicated, engaging the appropriate partners, gathering the information necessary and ensuring a timely resolution. You will also have the opportunity to support investigations of harassment, discrimination and retaliation.

- Lead investigations into Employee Relation issues, and oversee resolution of team dynamic challenges
- Advise on and resolve workplace concerns to ensure fair treatment of all GOC'ers. Workplace concerns include, but are not limited to, allegations of unfairness in the performance review, promotion, reorganization, pay and level processes and standards of conduct concerns that can be resolved through coaching, conflict resolution or alternative dispute resolution.
- Identify workplace concerns that may rise to the level of policy violations and partner with Employee Relations investigators for advice and to determine if investigation is necessary. Partner and provide support throughout the investigation process as necessary.
- Provide support to Partner Investigations (i.e. Ethics & Compliance, Internal Audit, Global Investigations), which may include note taking, advising and drafting and delivering corrective action.
- De-escalate and resolve matters as appropriate using empathetic listening and conflict
- Draft summaries to document complex issues and advice as necessary
- Travel across locations and support business in varied shifts on a need basis
- Partner with HRBP team to represent the function in internal, external or on global audits in relations to Labour compliance
- Understand, interpret and analyze ER data insights to develop proactive interventions
Minimum Qualifications
- 8-12 years of experience gained in either an Employee Relations role, Investigations role, or equivalent experience as an employment attorney practicing employment law or demonstrated relevant experience understanding and applying ER/Employment Legal advice
- Strong communication, analytical, influencing and writing skills
- Experience consulting directly with employees and management
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent working knowledge of HR policies/procedures
- Experience using HR tools for performance management and case management
- Hands on with core HR Processes and ability of operate in a matrixed environment
