Embedded Systems & Hardware Engineer
Overview: Lead the physical design, thermal management, and ruggedization of x86-based sovereign edge nodes and high-compute chassis.
Years of Experience: 5–8 years in Embedded Hardware Design.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Design and integrate carrier boards and high-speed interfaces (USB 4, M.2, PCIe Gen4) for x86 Single Board Computers (SBCs).
- Integrate diverse communication modules including 5G NR, LoRa, and Wi-Fi 6E into compact, modular form factors.
- Perform thermal modeling and design passive/active cooling solutions for fanless operation in sealed transit cases.
- Execute environmental stress testing, specifically targeting shock, vibration, and temperature extremes (Industry equivalents to MIL-STD).
Technical Requirements:
- Proficiency in Altium, Eagle, or KiCad for high-speed PCB design.
- Experience with x86 SBC architectures (VersaLogic, ASRock, or Intel NUC equivalents).
- Solid understanding of power delivery networks (PDN) and battery management systems.
Good to Have:
- Experience with mechanical CAD (SolidWorks/Fusion 360) for enclosure design.
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC shielding techniques.
