Job Description
About us
We're an early stage startup in stealth mode in Mumbai, building a security first service that protects people's most valuable possessions. At its core is a secure, connected, battery powered device that we design in-house.
The role
We're hiring the engineer who will own the device's electronics, from the first prototype to a design ready for manufacturing.
What you'll do
• Own the electronics end to end: architecture, schematics, PCB layout, bring-up and firmware
• Design the power system around a rechargeable battery, with low power modes and safe charging
• Integrate 4G cellular, biometric sensing, an electronic lock and other sensors
• Build security into the hardware: secure element, secure boot and signed firmware updates
• Work side by side with our mechanical engineer on fit and assembly, and with our backend engineer on how the device talks to our servers
• Test, debug and document each prototype, and get the design ready for manufacturing and certification
What you'll bring
• 3+ years in embedded hardware and firmware, including at least one battery-powered connected product that reached production
• Schematic and PCB design (KiCad, Altium or similar), and firmware in C/C++ on ESP32, STM32 or similar
• Hands-on work with 4G/LTE modules and low-power design
• Confident in the lab: oscilloscope, logic analyser, soldering and board rework
Good to have
• LiFePO4 batteries and BMS design
• Secure elements, secure boot or encrypted OTA updates
• Fingerprint sensors, solenoids or motor drivers
• Taking a product through BIS, WPC or similar certification
How we work
• Contract for the prototype phase at full-time hours, with a path to a full-time role
• Competitive pay, all in cash (no ESOPs)
• On-site in Mumbai, with the hardware
• You work directly with the founder, and what you design is what ships
Please apply only if you've designed the PCB and written the firmware for a battery powered product that reached production. Shortlisted candidates will walk us through a board they designed.
