Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop low-power, battery-operated embedded hardware systems
  • Lead RF and antenna design for wireless systems including:
    • Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
    • Wi-Fi
    • Other RF protocols (as applicable)
  • Design multi-layer PCBs (minimum 4 layers) with focus on:
    • Controlled impedance routing
    • RF layout best practices
    • Signal integrity and noise minimization
    • Antenna matching and tuning
  • Create and maintain:
    • Schematics

    • Bill of Materials (BOM) with cost and availability optimization
  • Rapidly prototype hardware systems integrating:
    • Accelerometers
    • Gyroscopes
    • Microphones
    • Cameras
    • NOR Flash and other memory
    • Additional sensors and peripherals
  • Perform hardware bring-up, validation, and debugging
  • Collaborate closely with firmware engineers to:
    • Optimize power consumption
    • Ensure reliable sensor interfacing and data acquisition
    • Improve wireless performance (range, throughput, stability)
  • Test and validate hardware and firmware performance, including:
    • Power profiling
    • RF performance (range, packet loss, throughput)
    • Signal integrity
  • Generate detailed test reports with actionable insights
  • Develop and maintain mechanical test jigs and fixtures for:
    • Device validation
    • Repeatable testing
    • Data collection setups
  • Coordinate with EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) partners in China for:
    • Prototype builds
    • DFM (Design for Manufacturing) feedback
    • Production scaling and issue resolution
Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong experience in low-power hardware design for battery-operated devices
  • Proven expertise in RF and antenna design, including:
    • Antenna selection, matching, and tuning
    • RF measurement tools (VNA, spectrum analyzer, etc.)
