We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Embedded Eng Manager to lead our Test Engineering function within the IA HPS V&V organization at Sparta Systems. This pivotal leadership role will spearhead the development and implementation of comprehensive functional test strategies, automation, and simulation across IA_HPS PAS, ensuring best-in-class test deliverables and driving continuous improvement in our testing methodologies and capabilities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a long-term functional, performance, automation, and simulation testing strategy for the Strategic Business Group (SBG).
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of domain and automation/simulation testing professionals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate test scenarios and ensure 100% coverage with a robust automation and simulation testing pipeline throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Design and maintain comprehensive test strategies and automation/simulation frameworks to support various testing phases.
- Drive continuous improvement in testing practices by leveraging the latest technologies and methodologies.
- Manage the creation, execution, and maintenance of test deliverables to ensure robust product releases.
- Analyze test results, report on testing progress and issues, and provide actionable recommendations for improvements.
- Ensure strict compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage budget, resources, and timelines effectively for all testing activities.
- Contribute to achieving Line of Business (LOB) Annual Operating Plan (AOP) commitments through timely product delivery.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and foster innovation within the team.
- Oversee customer issue resolution and provide technical support to ensure quick resolution of site issues.
- Drive SBG and cross-SBG initiatives as a vital part of the Verification & Validation (V&V) Center of Excellence.
- Manage/oversee the day-to-day test operations of multiple test teams, ensuring close coordination with cross-LOB Test and Development leads.
Skills Requirement:
- Broad expertise in Control Systems and Safety Systems testing.
- Knowledge of both legacy and latest control systems, safety systems, and system interoperability.
- Understanding of various platforms, HCI application qualification, third-party interoperability qualification, and virtualization.
- Experience in system function/automation-simulation testing or development within a large-scale enterprise environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing testing team.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Knowledge of the overall Engineering lifecycle of product development.
- Good knowledge of Virtualization (VMWare).
- Knowledge of Experion PKS, Safety Manager, Honeywell TPS, FSC systems, and legacy systems migrations is an added advantage.
- Exposure to Test and Requirement Management Tools such as JIRA, Xray is essential.
- Solid communication and collaborative skills.
- Customer-centricity and ability to drive business and customer engagement.
- Knowledge of various programming languages such as Java, Python, C# is an added advantage.
- Experience with Distributed Control Systems, Safety Systems, and legacy control systems testing environments.
- Knowledge of Product Life Cycles and managing programs of projects.
- Familiarity with performance and security testing.
- Experience with Legacy DCS and Safety systems and System Migrations.
QUALIFICATION:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science/Electronics/Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
