About the Role
The Email Marketing Specialist will play a crucial role in developing and executing effective email marketing strategies to onboard users, drive feature adoption, increase user engagement, and convert free users to paying subscribers while upgrading existing subscribers to premium tiers. The ideal candidate will manage large-scale subscriber lists, leverage data-driven strategies, and create dynamic email campaigns to optimize growth and retention.
What you'll be doing:
Subscriber Management & Growth:
- Oversee and manage large-scale email contact lists (500K+), ensuring data integrity, segmentation, and deliverability.
- Develop and execute strategies to grow the subscriber base by converting active user segments to subscribers.
- Identify opportunities to upgrade free users to paid plans and encourage existing subscribers to adopt higher-tier plans through targeted campaigns.
- Monitor and optimize key list metrics (e.g., growth rates, churn rates, list hygiene) to ensure sustainable growth and engagement.
Customer Onboarding & User Adoption:
- Design automated email workflows to seamlessly onboard new users and guide them through product usage.
- Leverage triggers based on user behavior and feature adoption to send relevant, personalized communications.
- Implement nurturing campaigns to increase feature adoption, educate users on product benefits, and enhance user satisfaction.
Targeted Email Campaigns:
- Develop and execute campaigns to increase user activation, engagement, and retention through strategic email messaging.
- Craft clear and compelling email content for onboarding, promotional offers, product updates, and educational campaigns.
- Segment email lists to target specific user groups with tailored messaging and offers.
Performance Optimization:
- Analyze email campaign performance (e.g., open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates) and adjust strategies to maximize ROI.
- Implement A/B testing to improve subject lines, email design, and messaging.
- Use data-driven insights to refine segmentation strategies and content personalization for improved results.
Mass Mailing Campaigns:
- Lead the development and execution of mass email campaigns, such as newsletters, updates, and product launches, to communicate effectively with all segments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment of messaging and campaign objectives.
Graphic Design Integration (Desirable):
- Collaborate with design teams or use graphic tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) to incorporate visually engaging elements into email templates.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in email marketing, content creation, or lifecycle marketing roles.
- Proven experience managing large subscriber lists and executing email marketing strategies to drive engagement and conversions.
- Proficiency in email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot, SendGrid, or similar).
- Strong understanding of email best practices, segmentation, triggers, automation, and campaign optimization.
- Excellent copywriting skills with the ability to craft engaging, user-centric content.
- Analytical mindset with experience using metrics and A/B testing to optimize campaigns.
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS for email formatting (desirable).
- Bonus: Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop).
