Job Description

Star Automations is a component-level repair house for industrial electronics, with 15+ years of hands-on work for manufacturing plants across India. Our workshop is in Puducherry, with offices in Chennai and Bengaluru. We repair servo drives and motors, VFDs, PLCs, CNC boards, Robotic ,encoders, SMPS, UPS and inverter boards for FMCG, pharma, electronics, wind and railway customers.

We are building a strong bench team. If you enjoy finding the one faulty component on a dead board, and seeing a machine run again because of your work, this role is for you.

What you will do

• Diagnose faulty industrial boards and drives down to component level using schematics, multimeter, oscilloscope and power supplies

• Replace SMD/THT components, do rework (including fine-pitch and BGA where trained), and clean up burnt or damaged tracks

• Power up and functionally test repaired units on our test benches and record the results

• Write a short repair report for each job: fault found, parts changed, test done

• Build our repair knowledge base and help train juniors

• Occasionally visit customer plants in Chennai / Puducherry for fault-finding

What we are looking for

• Diploma / ITI / BE in ECE, EEE or Instrumentation

• 2+ years of component-level repair (industrial drives, SMPS, PLC, CNC, TV/laptop motherboards or telecom boards all count)

• Comfortable with soldering stations, hot air rework, oscilloscope and DMM

• Ability to read datasheets and trace circuits without a full schematic

• Honest, patient and careful with customer equipment

• Tamil or English communication; Hindi is a plus

Freshers with strong soldering and electronics basics can apply for our trainee track. Retired engineers (ex-PSU, Railways, Defence, OEM service) are welcome as part-time mentors.
