About the Role

We're seeking a versatile Technical Solutions Specialist who thrives in a dynamic, multi-project environment. You'll be the go-to hardware expert solving diverse technical challenges—from designing custom accessories and integration solutions to supporting product certifi cations and troubleshooting fi eld issues.

This hybrid role balances project ownership (leading hardware initiatives end-to-end) with ad-hoc technical support (responding to urgent needs from QC, product, operations, and sales teams). You'll collaborate across 5-7 cross-functional teams, delivering practical hardware solutions while maintaining technical excellence and regulatory compliance.written communication skills

Key Responsibilities

Product Solutions & Development

  • Design custom hardware solutions, accessories, and integration adapters for product deployments Lead hardware projects from concept through fi eld validation
  • Execute PCB design (4-layer minimum) using Altium, Eagle, or KiCad
  • Define system architecture, component selection, and signal integrity analysis
  • Collaborate with mechanical team on enclosure design and CAD integration

Ad-Hoc Technical Support

  • Respond to technical requests from QC, product, operations, and sales teams
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues in deployed systems and design rapid solutions
  • Create quick-turn prototypes and proof-of-concept hardware
  • Design test fi xtures, jigs, and validation tools as needed
  • Provide technical feasibility assessments for customer requirements

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Develop field test plans and lab protocols for hardware validation
  • Execute environmental stress testing (thermal, humidity, vibration)
  • Create acceptance criteria and test specifi cations with QA team
  • Document test results and drive design improvements

Certification & Compliance

  • Support product certifi cation projects (UL, CE, CSA, BIS, FCC, IEC)
  • Prepare technical documentation for regulatory submissions
  • Coordinate with testing laboratories and ensure compliance standards

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Define hardware-firmware interfaces with the fi rmware team
  • Partner with the software/IoT team on communication protocols and data formats
  • Coordinate with the data analytics team on sensor integration and calibration
  • Provide technical recommendations to product and leadership teams
  • Support pre-sales discussions with technical inputs

Required Qualifications

Technical Expertise

  • 5+ years in electronics hardware design, IoT systems, or embedded systems engineering
  • PCB Design: Profi ciency in Altium, Eagle, or KiCad (multi-layer boards, DFM practices)
  • System Architecture: Component selection, power budgeting, signal chain design
  • CAD Tools: Working knowledge of Autodesk Fusion 360 or SolidWorks
  • Sensor Integration: Practical experience with environmental sensors (like gas, temperature, humidity, pressure)
  • Embedded Systems: Basic understanding of Embedded C/C++ and firmware communication
  • Test Development: Experience creating detailed test procedures and acceptance criteria
  • Protocols: UART, I2C, SPI, RS-485, Modbus, Ethernet, LoRaWAN, MQTT

Compliance Knowledge

  • Familiarity with UL, CE, CSA, BIS, FCC certifi cation processes
  • Understanding of ISO 9001, IEC 62443 frameworks
  • Basic knowledge of EMI/EMC testing and functional safety standards

Education

Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct product certifi cation submission experience
  • Background in climate/environmental monitoring systems
  • SAFe for Hardware or IPC certifi cations
  • Manufacturing fl oor or contract manufacturer experience
  • Experience in startup or fast-paced environments
