Job Description

Help build India's first commercial scanning electron microscope.

Today, India relies on imported electron microscopes. Bharat Atomic is changing that by building semiconductor equipment from the ground up, starting with high-resolution SEMs and electron-beam lithography. You'll work on the real instrument with a senior mentor.

Winter internship | Bhopal | In person | 4 months | Competitive stipend + accommodation provided

What you'll do

  • Design, build and test the analog and precision current-control electronics that drive our electron-optical lenses and coils.
  • Hunt down noise and drift at the level where they show up as blur in an image.
  • Take boards from schematic to PCB to bench, choosing components and documenting test results.

By the end, you'll have built and debugged electronics running in a working electron microscope. Very few engineers in India have done that.

Your mentor

Vishnukumar Chaudhary, Lead Systems Architect, Electronics. You'll work alongside our engineers and scientists every day.

You might be a fit if you

  • Are a third-year or final-year undergraduate in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation or a related degree.
  • Have built circuits and are at home with an oscilloscope, datasheets and schematics.
  • Enjoy analog electronics. PCB design, SPICE or embedded programming experience is a plus.

We care more about what you've built than your CGPA.

How to apply

Apply on LinkedIn with your CV. In it, highlight one circuit or electronics project you're proud of: what it does, what you personally did, and one thing that went wrong along the way. Make sure your degree and year are on it.
