Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Plan and direct hardware engineering activities to achieve company objectives.
  • Bridge engineering vision with overall business goals and growth strategies.
  • Lead multifunctional teams to deliver product prototypes and hardware sub-systems (e.g., modules, Flex PCBAs, PCBAs).
  • Modularize and optimize existing electronics designs.
  • Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with specification, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership in all aspects of hardware design and development.
  • Evaluate materials, techniques, and technologies used in production for reliability and efficiency.
  • Manage engineering schedules, resource allocation, and budget planning.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with global suppliers, integrate schedules, and manage delivery expectations.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent.
  • Support the entire product lifecyclefrom concept through to execution and launch.
  • Recommend new technologies and innovations to improve engineering velocity.
  • Work closely with product marketing teams to develop fast prototypes for validating concepts and market innovations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of hands-on hardware design and leadership experience, preferably in a consumer electronics or IoT environment.
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to operate in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex, cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Proven success in product innovation, early-stage MVP development, and iterative prototyping.
  • Deep understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and global manufacturing systems.
  • Strong program management skillscapable of balancing cost, quality, and schedule.
  • Commercial and financial acumen with experience in budget preparation and roadmap planning.
  • Experience with global supplier management and cross-border collaboration.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in building and scaling engineering teams, with coaching and development of advanced development teams.
  • Strong analytical and independent problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in a multinational or global electronics company.
  • Background in consumer electronics or IoT architectures.
  • Ability to create and manage assembly instructions and visual documentation for manufacturing systems.
