Role Description
This full-time on-site role, based in Chennai or in Coimbatore is for an Electrical Supervisor PEB & Civil Construction. The Electrical Supervisor will manage and oversee electrical operations, focusing on installations, repairs, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with safety standards, supervising a team of workers, and coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth execution of projects. The role requires proactive problem-solving and ensuring that all electrical work adheres to established codes and regulations.
Job Title: Electrical Supervisor (Construction)
Reports To: Project Manager / Sr. Electrical Engineer
Location: Chennai/ Coimbatore
Type: Full-Time (Site Based)
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Supervise installation of LT/HT wiring, panel boards, MCC, DBs, lighting, earthing, lightning protection (as per IEC/IS 732)
- Coordinate with civil/structural teams for conduit/slab embedment, wall chases, roof penetrations especially in PEB (metal roof & wall cut-outs)
- Verify conduit routing, cable tray placement, gland sizes, cable pulling per approved SLD & BOQ
- Test continuity, insulation resistance (IR), earth resistance (ER) document & submit reports
- Manage subcontractors (wiremen, panel fitters, testing agencies) ensure safety & quality
- Prepare daily/weekly progress reports, material requisitions, variation requests
- Commission & handover electrical systems including load balancing, phase testing, functional checks
- Enforce PPE, lockout-tagout, live-line safety zero tolerance for shortcuts
Must have Qualifications:
- 35 yrs hands-on electrical supervision (PEB warehouses, industrial sheds, civil buildings)
- ITI/Diploma/BE (Electrical) + valid wireman license (Govt. of India)
- Knowledge of IS 3043 (Earthing), IS 732 (Wiring), IEC 60364
- Proficient with multimeter, megger, clamp meter, earth tester
- MS Excel + /Electrical (basic reading skill)
- Willing to climb, work at height, travel to multiple sites
