Mission of the Role
The mission of an
Electrical Testing Engineer is to ensure the safety, reliability, and performance of electrical systems and equipment through accurate testing, inspection, and analysis. They identify faults, maintain quality standards, support efficient operations, and ensure compliance with technical specifications, industry regulations, and safety guidelines to achieve optimal system functionality.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct safety testing and evaluation of electrical equipment
- Work with particular and collateral standards (IEC 60335-1 IEC 60598, IEC 62368, IEC 60950, IEC 60065.
- Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory requirements.
- Define project scope, specifications, cost, and sample requirements by analyzing client input and product construction.
- Conduct or witness tests at client sites as needed.
- Communicate with clients regarding technical requirements, regulatory standards, and compliance procedures.
- Evaluate product samples and notify clients of any non-compliance issues.
- Prepare technical data sheets, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
- Manage project timelines, lab activities, and administrative processes.
- Develop and improve testing methodologies and laboratory procedures.
- Represent Cotecna at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.
Qualifications, Experience and Technical Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or Physics).
- 2+ years of experience in electrical equipment safety testing.
- Expertise in IEC 60335-1, 60598, 62368, 60950, 60065, and ISO/IEC 17025 compliance.
- Strong knowledge of testing equipment, laboratory procedures, and product evaluation techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
