Job Purpose
The Electrical Technician supports technicians and mechanics in the repair and maintenance of marine outboard engines. The role involves assisting with basic mechanical and electrical tasks, maintaining tools and inventory, and ensuring a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment. This position provides hands-on learning opportunities in marine engine repair and maintenance.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist technicians and mechanics in marine engine repair and maintenance activities, including basic disassembly and assembly of components.
- Hand over tools and equipment to technicians as required during repair work.
- Support in organizing and maintaining inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment.
- Track stock levels and assist in restocking supplies when required.
- Clean and prepare engine parts, tools, and work areas by removing grease, stains, and debris.
- Help set up tools and equipment required for repair and servicing activities.
- Assist in the cleaning and routine maintenance of workshop tools and equipment.
- Provide general workshop support, including fetching tools, assisting team members, and maintaining order.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines while handling tools, equipment, and materials.
- Actively learn from senior technicians and mechanics to develop skills and knowledge in marine engines and repair techniques.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- School diploma (Diploma in a relevant technical field preferred).
- Basic interest in marine engines and electrical systems.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to perform manual tasks and work in a workshop environment.
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Basic organizational skills for managing tools and parts.
- Effective communication skills for teamwork.
- Familiarity with basic hand tools.
