Position-Electrical Supervisor-Data Center

An Electrical Supervisor in a data center is responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all critical electrical infrastructure to ensure maximum uptime, safety, and efficiency. This role involves managing a team of electricians and technicians, performing preventive maintenance on power systems, and enforcing strict adherence to safety standards, such as NFPA and LOTO (Lockout/Tagout).

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Maintenance: Monitor and maintain critical electrical systems, including UPS systems, PDUs, standby generators, transfer switches, switchgear, and battery banks.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and schedule electrical technicians and subcontractors, ensuring tasks are completed safely and on time.
  • Incident Management: Respond to electrical faults, troubleshoot power issues immediately to avoid downtime, and conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on failures.
  • Safety and Compliance: Enforce high-voltage safety procedures and ensure all work complies with industry standards (e.g., ANSI/TIA-942) and safety regulations.
  • Project Supervision: Plan and execute electrical upgrades, installations, and repairs, coordinating with mechanical, IT, and facility teams.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance, electrical schematics, as-built drawings.
  • Required Qualifications and Skills

    • Education: Typically requires a Diploma/ITI in Electrical Engineering, or a trade school diploma with 5–8 years of relevant experience.
    • Experience: Proven experience in data center operations or critical infrastructure environments, with a strong background in high-voltage systems.
    • Licensure: Journeyman or Master Electrician license is often required.
    • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and ability to read blueprints and technical schematics.
