Electrical Service Engineer

Company Description

The Electrical Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical panels and associated systems onboard vessels. The position demands practical experience in marine electrical systems, control circuits, and fault diagnosis under shipboard operational conditions.Key Responsibilities:Install and commission electrical panels, switchboards, and control systems onboard vessels.Perform wiring, termination, and functional testing of electrical and control circuits.Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults in power and automation systems.Conduct inspections, preventive maintenance, and performance checks of electrical equipment.Interpret single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and technical drawings for installation and repair tasks.Ensure compliance with vessel classification society rules, marine electrical standards, and onboard safety procedures.Coordinate with mechanical, instrumentation, and automation teams during system commissioning and maintenance.Prepare service reports, test records, and completion documentation after each project or assignment.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical or Marine Engineering (or equivalent).
• Proven experience in panel installation, commissioning, and vessel electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of AC/DC distribution, motor control, and fault-finding techniques.
• Knowledge of marine electrical codes, standards, and safety procedures.
• Capability to work independently onboard vessels and in offshore conditions.
• Effective communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
