Position Summary: The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of

electrical and instrumentation projects, from initial costing and design to project handover. This

role involves extensive technical expertise, project management skills, and collaboration with

various teams to ensure the successful execution of projects. The Electrical Project Manager

plays a pivotal role in the planning, execution, and delivery of electrical systems within EPC

(Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects.

Key Responsibilites

  1. Project Costing and Budgeting:
  • Collaborate with the estimating team to prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical and instrumentation components.
  • Ensure that project budgets are well-defined and adhere to cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle.

2. Design and Material Selection:

  • Work closely with design engineers to develop electrical systems and instrumentation solutions that meet project specifications.
  • Assist in the selection of materials, including electrical panels, cables, automation
  • systems, and other relevant components.

3. Technical Expertise:

  • Provide technical guidance and expertise in electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Review and approve technical documents, drawings, and specifications.

4. Project Planning:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and procurement schedules.
  • Coordinate with other project managers and departments to ensure seamless integration with overall project plans.

5. Project Execution:

  • Oversee the execution of electrical and instrumentation works at project sites across India
  • Monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.
  • Resolve technical issues and challenges that may arise during construction.

6. Vendor Management:

  • Evaluate and select subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors for electrical components and services.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with project requirements.

7. Quality Assurance and Control:

  • Implement quality control measures to ensure that electrical systems meet industry standards and project specifications.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality audits.

8. Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
  • Proactively address any issues that may impact project timelines or budgets.

9. Client Communication:

  • Maintain regular communication with clients to provide project updates and address their concerns.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and manage expectations effectively.

10. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate project records, including documentation of design changes, approvals, and project progress.
  • Generate regular reports for senior management and stakeholders.

11. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations and standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety on project sites.

12. Project Handover:

  • Facilitate the smooth handover of completed electrical systems to the client.
  • Ensure that all necessary documentation and training are provided to the client's operations team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project management, particularly within the electrical and instrumentation domain.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and instrumentation.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with relevant software tools and project management software.
