Job Description

Electrical Engineering Expert (AI Training)

About The Role

We're partnering with the world's leading AI research labs to make AI smarter — and we need electrical engineers to help get there. As an Electrical Engineering AI Trainer, you'll stress-test cutting-edge language models against real, advanced engineering problems, expose their weaknesses, and help build the next generation of technically rigorous AI.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role — work on your schedule, from anywhere.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Design Challenging Problems — Craft advanced electrical engineering problems spanning circuit analysis, power systems, signal processing, electromagnetics, embedded systems, and control theory to push AI models to their limits
  • Author Gold-Standard Solutions — Write rigorous, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as benchmarks for AI learning and evaluation
  • Audit AI Outputs — Review and assess AI-generated code, circuit diagrams, and mathematical proofs for technical accuracy, safety, and compliance with engineering standards (IEEE, NEC, etc.)
  • Sharpen AI Reasoning — Identify logical gaps and flawed reasoning in AI responses, then provide structured feedback to improve model performance on complex engineering tasks

Who You Are

  • Currently pursuing or have completed a Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Strong foundational expertise in one or more core domains — VLSI, control systems, telecommunications, power electronics, or signal processing
  • Able to explain highly technical concepts clearly and precisely in writing
  • Meticulous with mathematical equations, circuit logic, and technical documentation
  • Self-directed and comfortable working asynchronously
  • No prior AI experience required

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data annotation, data quality review, or AI evaluation workflows
  • Familiarity with simulation tools (SPICE, MATLAB, etc.)
  • Background in academic or industry research

Why Join Us

  • Work on genuinely cutting-edge AI projects alongside top research teams
  • Fully remote and flexible — set your own hours and workload
  • Freelance autonomy with the backing of a professional, global team
  • Gain rare, hands-on exposure to how advanced large language models are built and trained
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
