Diploma in Electrical Engineering or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
Responsibilities
- Computer-aided drafting methods and techniques; proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation preferred.
- Work with engineers to draft all components of physical substation drawing sets, such as Site Plans, General Arrangements, Elevations, Bus Details, Foundation Plans, Foundation Details, Conduit plans, Conduit Details, Grounding Plans, Grounding Details, Steel Plan, Steel Details, Control Enclosure Plan and Elevations, and Bill of Materials, etc.
- Work with engineers to draft all components of Protection and Control (or Electrical) substation drawing sets, such as Single Line Diagrams, Three Line Diagrams, AC and DC Schematics, Wiring Diagrams, and Cable Schedule, etc.
- Ability to recognize and use drafting standards (fonts, line styles, symbols, layering).
- Understand components and details to assemble a substation and draft detail and section views as instructed by the designer/engineer, to effectively communicate requirements for the design.
- Understand the drawings and relationship between drawings that make up the protection and control design package of a substation
