Job Summary
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will lead the design and development of electrical panel drawings using AutoCAD. The role involves preparing and reviewing SLDs, GA drawings, schematics, and control circuits for HT/LT panels, ensuring technical accuracy, standardization, and smooth execution. The candidate will also guide junior engineers, handle complex projects, and coordinate closely with production, procurement, and project teams.
Key Result Areas (KRA) & Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
- Advanced Electrical Design & AutoCAD Execution KRA: Lead and deliver high-quality electrical designs. KPIs:
- Timely completion of complex drawings (SLD, GA, schematics)
- Accuracy and quality of AutoCAD drawings
- Reduction in design errors and revisions
- Standardization of drawing practices
- Panel Design Expertise (HT/LT & Control Panels) KRA: Design and review all types of electrical panels. KPIs:
- Accuracy in PCC, MCC, APFC, VFD & Control Panel designs
- Optimization of layouts for performance and cost
- Technical compliance with client requirements
- Circuit Design & Technical Validation KRA: Develop and validate control circuits and logic. KPIs:
- Error-free control and interlocking diagrams
- Technical validation before release to production
- Reduction in site/commissioning issues
- BOM & Cost Optimization KRA: Prepare and review BOM with cost efficiency. KPIs:
- Accuracy of BOM with minimal revisions
- Cost optimization through component selection
- Coordination with procurement for technical approvals
- Team Leadership & Mentoring KRA: Guide and develop junior design engineers. KPIs:
- Team productivity and output quality
- Training and skill development initiatives
- Reduction in dependency for routine tasks
- Cross-Functional Coordination KRA: Ensure seamless coordination with internal teams. KPIs:
- Timely resolution of production and project queries
- Coordination with production, QA, and site teams

- Quality, Standards & Documentation KRA: Maintain design quality and compliance. KPIs:
- Compliance with IEC / IS standards
- Proper documentation and revision control
- Continuous improvement in design processes Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review AutoCAD drawings (SLD, GA, schematics, wiring diagrams)
- Design HT/LT panels including PCC, MCC, APFC, VFD, and Control Panels
- Develop and validate control circuits and interlocking logic
- Create and review BOM and technical specifications
- Lead design reviews and approve final drawings
- Guide junior engineers and assign tasks
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and project teams
- Support testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting
- Ensure compliance with all technical and safety standards
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in AutoCAD (2D) for electrical drawings
- Deep knowledge of electrical panel design and switchgear systems
- Strong understanding of SLD, control circuits, and wiring diagrams
- Knowledge of HT/LT systems and protection schemes
