Role Overview
We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer with strong expertise in control panel design and full accountability for site electrical execution. The role involves end-to-end responsibility, from detailed engineering and documentation through site installation, commissioning, and project handover.
Key Responsibilities
A) Panel Design & Engineering Documentation
- Design industrial electrical control panels, including PLC, MCC, VFD, and instrumentation panels.
- Prepare comprehensive engineering documentation, such as:
- Electrical GA layout drawings
- Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
- Control and power wiring schematics
- Terminal diagrams and cable schedules
- I/O wiring schedules and loop diagrams
- Develop Bills of Materials (BOM) and select components from leading manufacturers (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, ABB).
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and panel testing at the vendor's facility.
- Prepare as-built drawings and manage drawing revisions post-commissioning.
B) Site Electrical Execution & Accountability
- Take complete ownership of electrical execution activities at site, including:
- Cable laying planning, routing, and coordination
- Wiring and termination of field junction boxes and marshalling panels
- Instrument and control cable checks in accordance with approved drawings
- Supervision of panel installation, cable termination, and interconnections
- Verification of earthing and grounding systems
- Coordination with site contractors and electricians
- Ensure all site electrical works comply with applicable safety standards, codes, and project specifications.
- Provide troubleshooting and technical support during commissioning and shutdown activities.
- Monitor site progress, report status, and ensure timely closure of punch points in coordination with the customer and project teams.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical panels and site wiring practices.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical.
- Solid understanding of PLC and VFD panel wiring, along with instrumentation cabling.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, GA drawings, and electrical layouts.
- Effective coordination and communication skills with design, manufacturing, and site execution teams.
