Job Description - Electrical Design & Automation Engineer
Experience : 4 to 8 Yrs
Location : Chennai
We are looking for a skilled Electrical Design & Automation Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Creating and developing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Designing control system architectures and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Selecting suitable switchgear, sensors, feedback components, and power supplies for project requirements.
- Collaborating with the mechanical design team on concept development, I/O planning, and choosing appropriate sensors and motors.
- Developing, integrating, and troubleshooting PLC, HMI, Servo Drive, and VFD systems.
- Conducting installation, testing, and commissioning at customer sites.
- Diagnosing and optimizing control logic to enhance performance, reliability, and safety.
- Preparing detailed technical documentation, including control logic diagrams, I/O lists, and commissioning reports.
- Maintaining comprehensive electrical documentation, tracking design revisions, and managing change processes.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.
- 4 to 8 years of hands-on experience in electrical design, automation, and control systems.
- Programming experience with Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, Delta, and Inovance PLCs and HMIs.
- Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols such as EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, and Modbus TCP.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
- Willingness to work in shifts based on production requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple automation projects under tight deadlines.
