We are seeking a
skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have
35 years of experience in designing electrical systems for commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
The role involves performing
voltage drop calculations, cable sizing, earthing design, lighting design, switchgear selection, transformer sizing, and preparing detailed cable schedules.
The candidate should be proficient in
electrical design tools and capable of working collaboratively with
multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient and high-quality electrical design solutions.
Responsibilities
- Perform voltage drop calculations and ensure designs comply with applicable electrical codes and standards.
- Conduct cable sizing and selection based on load, thermal, and short-circuit parameters.
- Design earthing and grounding systems to ensure safety and operational reliability.
- Prepare and analyze cable tray and conduit layouts for efficient routing.
- Design interior and exterior lighting systems, including lux level calculations.
- Select and specify switchgears, circuit breakers, contactors, and other electrical components.
- Size and select transformers based on load requirements and overall system design.
- Develop and maintain cable schedules, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and panel schedules.
Skills/Experience
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience
- 35 years of relevant experience in electrical design for commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
Technical & Professional Skills
- Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEC, IEEE, etc.).
- Proficient in AutoCAD and other electrical design software.
- Familiar with MS Office and project documentation tools.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork abilities.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting project deadlines.
