About The Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to drive the design and development of Engineering-to-Order (ETO) solutions for high-power 3-phase UPS systems and related power distribution products. This role will focus on designing technically robust and customer-centric electrical solutions, supporting new product enhancements, resolving field issues, and collaborating across global cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in high-power electrical distribution systems, UPS architecture, busbar and cable design, switchgear selection, and data center power applications.
Key Responsibilities
ETO Solution Design & Product Engineering
- Design ETO solutions for high-power 3-phase UPS products and associated electrical distribution systems including panels, IO cabinets, transfer switches, circuit breakers, busbars, CT branches, and power monitoring systems.
- Develop electrical system architecture and perform detailed engineering calculations for:
- Busbar sizing and routing
- Cable selection and routing
- Circuit breaker and protection device selection
- Grounding and earthing systems
- Cooling and thermal considerations
- Ensure designs meet customer requirements, technical specifications, and global engineering standards.
Technical Leadership & Problem Solving
- Participate in technical reviews for ETO designs and field failure analysis of launched products.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for complex customer and field issues requiring specialized electrical expertise.
- Support product enhancements, new auxiliary development activities, and continuous product improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with customers and application engineering teams as a technical advisor during solution discussions and sales engagements.
Documentation & Engineering Deliverables
- Prepare and maintain engineering deliverables including:
- General Arrangement (GA) Drawings
- Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
- Submittal Drawings
- Manufacturing documentation
- Technical specifications and calculations
- Ensure compliance with industry standards including ANSI, IEEE, and applicable electrical safety regulations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate effectively with electrical, mechanical, testing, manufacturing, quality, and project teams.
- Provide technical support to the Test Department during product validation and testing phases.
- Review and analyze final test data to validate design performance and reliability.
- Contribute to estimation activities aligned with business profitability and customer expectations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in electrical design for 3-phase electrical distribution and high-power systems.
Technical Expertise
- Strong foundation in electrical engineering and high-power system design.
- Experience in:
- Single Line Diagram (SLD) design
- Busbar design and calculations
- Selection of switchgear, power cables, and control cables
- Circuit breakers, CT branches, grounding schemes, and protection systems
- UPS systems, batteries, power distribution products, and transfer switches
- Hands-on experience working with systems ranging from hundreds of kilowatts to megawatt power levels.
- Strong proficiency in Electrical AutoCAD with the ability to create:
- GA Drawings
- SLDs
- Submittal Drawings
- Good understanding of:
- DFM, DFMEA, PFMEA, FTA, CQCS
- Electrical safety standards and engineering codes
- Power and control circuits
- Data Center PDU, Remote Power Panels, and UPS auxiliary systems

- Experience in Data Center applications and power infrastructure solutions.
- Familiarity with PDU/PMM power and control architectures.
- Exposure to global engineering standards and international customer projects.
