Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Manager with strong expertise in electrical system design for MEP and building services projects. The candidate will be responsible for leading electrical design activities, managing teams, and supporting execution across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage complete electrical design activities for MEP projects
- Prepare and review load calculations, SLDs, power layouts, lighting layouts, and panel schedules
- Design HT/LT systems including transformer sizing, DG sizing, cable sizing, earthing, and lightning protection systems
- Prepare BOQs, technical specifications, and detailed design documentation
- Coordinate with HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, BMS teams, Architects, Consultants, and Site Teams
- Review shop drawings, GA drawings, and as-built drawings
- Ensure designs comply with IS standards, NBC codes, client requirements, and safety norms
- Provide technical support to execution and commissioning teams
- Handle design changes, site coordination issues, and technical clarifications
- Lead and mentor electrical design engineers, draftsmen, and BIM/CAD teams
- Support estimation, procurement, and vendor technical evaluations
- Drive value engineering and cost optimization initiatives
Required Skills:
- Strong experience in electrical design for MEP / building services projects
- In-depth knowledge of HT/LT systems, power distribution, lighting design, earthing, and lightning protection
- Experience in BOQ preparation, technical submittals, and design documentation
- Strong understanding of multidisciplinary MEP coordination
- Knowledge of IS Codes, NBC standards, and electrical safety norms
- Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills
- Strong client and consultant coordination abilities
Qualifications & Experience:
- B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering with strong relevant experience may also be considered
- 10-15 years of experience in Electrical Design / MEP Design
- Background in MEP Contracting / EPC / Building Services / Construction companies
- Experience handling industrial, commercial, warehouse, pharma, or institutional projects
- Proven experience in team handling and managerial roles
Software Skills:
- AutoCAD – Mandatory
- MS Office / Excel – Mandatory
- Revit MEP / BIM – Preferred
- Dialux – Preferred
- ETAP – Added advantage
