Description
We are looking for an experienced HVAC Electrical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The candidate will be responsible for electrical design and engineering of HVAC systems, MCCs, HVAC Control Panels/UCPs, PLC-based control systems and field electrical installations for industrial and oil & gas projects.
The role requires good practical knowledge of electrical design, control systems, motor control, instrumentation interfaces and preparation/review of engineering documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare electrical designs for HVAC systems and HVAC control panels/UCPs.
- Develop and review Single Line Diagrams (SLD), schematic diagrams, control circuit diagrams and wiring diagrams.
- Design MCC feeders, DOL/star-delta/VFD starters, motor control circuits and protection circuits.
- Develop HVAC control philosophy, sequence of operation and PLC I/O requirements.
- Prepare PLC I/O lists, termination diagrams, cable schedules and interconnection diagrams.
- Design interfaces between HVAC UCP, MCC, PLC, BMS/ICSS and field instruments.
- Work with PLC, HMI, Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU and industrial Ethernet systems.
- Prepare BOM/MTO and material specifications.
- Prepare panel layouts and assist with panel GA and component arrangement.
- Review vendor drawings, datasheets and technical submissions.
- Coordinate with mechanical, HVAC, instrumentation, PLC and process engineering teams.
- Support technical queries (TQs), deviations, engineering clarifications and client comments.
- Participate in FAT/SAT, inspection and commissioning support when required.
- Review electrical drawings for compliance with project specifications and applicable IEC/ NEC standards.
- Support troubleshooting of electrical/control issues during manufacturing, testing and commissioning.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have:
- Strong practical electrical design knowledge.
- Good understanding of MCC + HVAC UCP + PLC control systems.
- Ability to independently prepare electrical engineering deliverables.
- Good troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, HVAC and control drawings.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Experience dealing with clients, consultants and equipment vendors is an advantage.
