About The Job
We are looking for a skilled
Electrical Design Engineer to drive development of motor and electrical modules with strong focus on
performance, reliability, and cost optimization. The role involves end-to-end electrical parts for washing machine (motor, sensor, power cord) development, validation, and field issue resolution.
Responsibilities
- Handle electrical design and development of submersible motors, BLDC motors, and washing machine motors.
- Manage motor ratings and configurations (Induction & BLDC motors, etc.).
- Develop and validate washing machines motors and appliance electrical systems.
- Conduct prototype development, testing, and validation (Type testing / Dynamometer testing).
- Perform reliability testing and prepare detailed technical test reports.
- Execute temperature rise testing, performance validation, and endurance evaluation.
- Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) for different motor designs.
- Work on cost optimization and design improvements.
- Handle customer queries and technical issue resolution related to motor performance.
- Support documentation activities including sample preparation, compliance (IEC), and dispatch processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for design improvements and new product development.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of electric motor design principles, including Induction, and BLDC motors / electrical part of washing machine.
- Hands-on experience in R&D, prototype development, and validation testing of motor / electrical systems.
- Ability to perform field failure analysis, conduct root cause identification, and implement corrective actions.
- Good knowledge of electrical performance parameters, testing methodologies, and industry standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Effective communication skills for customer interaction and cross-functional collaboration.
- Familiarity with motor design and basic electrical analysis tools.
- Experience working with testing equipment such as dynamometer and temperature rise test setups.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and technical documentation preparation.
- Knowledge of BOM preparation and cost optimization techniques.
- 3–8 years of relevant experience in electrical motor design or R&D.
- Prior experience in industries such as home appliances or motor manufacturing preferred.
- M.Tech (Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics) preferred, ideally from reputed institutes (NITs / IITs).
