Electrical Design Engineer (Food Factory Projects)

FoodCognics India Pvt. Ltd. is a specialized food consultancy firm delivering end-to-end technical solutions for world-class food processing factories. We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer with strong fundamentals in electrical system design for industrial and food processing facilities.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, calculating, and coordinating complete electrical systems, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with food industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and engineering of HT & LT electrical systems for food processing plants

• Prepare electrical load calculations, power distribution philosophy, and single-line diagrams (SLDs)

• Design power distribution systems, including panels, transformers, DG sets, UPS, and earthing systems

• Develop cable sizing and cable scheduling, routing layouts, and tray sizing

• Design lighting layouts (normal, emergency, and outdoor lighting) as per applicable standards

• Prepare CCTV layouts, access control, and low-voltage system coordination

• Design fire alarm system layouts, device placement, and zoning

• Coordinate with fire consultants for firefighting system electrical requirements (pumps, panels, interlocks)

• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, local codes, and food industry norms

• Coordinate with mechanical, civil, and process teams for integrated design

• Support project execution teams during reviews, approvals, and site clarifications

• Prepare technical specifications, BOQs, and assist in vendor evaluations

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in industrial / food processing / FMCG / process plant projects

• Strong knowledge of basic and detailed electrical design principles

• Hands-on experience in HT & LT distribution systems

• Proficiency in load calculation, cable sizing, and system selection

• Familiarity with AutoCAD and electrical design documentation

• Knowledge of applicable standards (IS, IEC, NBC, fire & safety norms)

• Experience in food factory projects or hygienic environments is a strong advantage

• Good coordination, documentation, and problem-solving skills
