Electrical Lead Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Lead Engineer to lead the design and engineering of electrical systems for power, renewable energy, and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in substation engineering, power system studies, electrical design, and project coordination, with the ability to lead engineering teams and ensure timely delivery of quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare technical specifications, datasheets, material requisitions (MRs), Design Basis Reports (DBRs), tender documents, and Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs).
• Develop and review Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), protection schemes, schematic diagrams, I/O lists, and control logics for EHV, MV, and LV systems.
• Perform substation engineering activities for AIS/GIS substations up to 220kV, including conductor sizing, sag-tension analysis, and protection philosophy development.
• Carry out sizing calculations for transformers, CTs/PTs, switchgears, MCCs, UPS systems, battery banks, and auxiliary power systems.
• Perform electrical design calculations for cables, cable trays, grounding/earthing systems, and lighting systems.
• Conduct power system studies such as load flow, short-circuit, and motor starting analysis using ETAP.
• Review and approve engineering drawings including substation layouts, grounding layouts, raceways, cable routing, lighting, and equipment layouts.
• Prepare cable schedules, distribution board schedules, and inter-panel wiring diagrams.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with project requirements, quality standards, and engineering best practices.
• Participate in project kick-off meetings, technical discussions, and progress review meetings with clients and stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor, and support the development of engineering team members.
• Capture and maintain project lessons learned to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8–15 years of experience in electrical design and engineering.
• Experience in substations, power distribution systems, and industrial or renewable energy projects.
• Proficiency in ETAP, AutoCAD, and related engineering software.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and relevant industry standards.
• Excellent technical, communication, and leadership skills.
