Hiring | Electrical Design Engineer – Metro Rail Projects
Location and company: Aecom india pvt Ltd, Chennai.
Experience: 3–10 Years
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our Metro Rail design team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in the design and coordination of electrical systems for underground/elevated metro stations, depots, or other large infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities & Skills:
Design of LV Power Distribution, Lighting, Emergency Lighting, Small Power, Earthing & Bonding, and Lightning Protection systems.
Preparation of electrical load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop, short-circuit analysis, protection coordination, SLDs, layouts, BOQs, and technical specifications.
Coordination with VAC, TVS, Fire Protection, SCADA, Signalling, Telecom, Traction, Track, Civil, Structural, and Architectural teams.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and electrical design tools such as Dialux, ETAP, or Amtech.
Good understanding of BIM workflows, multidisciplinary coordination, and engineering best practices.
Strong knowledge of Indian & International Codes and Standards including IS, CEA, NBC, IEC, IEEE, NFPA, BS, and EN.
