- Develop Electrical BIM Models: Create and maintain accurate 3D models of electrical systems, including lighting, power, fire alarms, and other electrical components using BIM tools (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD MEP).
- Coordination with Electrical Engineers: Work closely with electrical engineers to understand system requirements and specifications, ensuring that the BIM models reflect the latest design changes.
- Clash Detection & Resolution: Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts between electrical systems and other building systems (mechanical, plumbing, structural), ensuring that all designs are coordinated.
- Update Models: Regularly update BIM models to reflect any design changes, revisions, or additions.
- Create Drawings and Documentation: Generate detailed drawings, schedules, and reports from the BIM models, including circuit diagrams, lighting layouts, power distribution, and more.
- Design Support: Assist electrical engineers with design optimization and ensure that the electrical system designs comply with safety regulations and building codes.
- Collaboration: Work alongside other BIM modelers and project team members (architects, engineers, contractors) to ensure the integration of all building systems within the BIM model.
- Maintain Standards: Ensure that all electrical models adhere to company standards, client requirements, and local building codes and regulations.
- Quality Control: Perform quality checks on models and drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Software Utilization: Use BIM software to simulate electrical system performance and support various aspects of the construction process, including project scheduling (4D) and cost estimation (5D) when necessary.
