About the RoleWe are hiring an Electrical Assistant Manager Solar to lead on-ground execution and operational performance of solar PV and mini-grid projects in Nagaland.
The role will be onboarded and coordinated from the Kolkata head office, followed by full-time deployment at project sites.
This position is ideal for professionals with hands-on solar EPC exposure, strong electrical fundamentals, and experience managing installation, commissioning, and O&M activities in field environments.
Key Responsibilities- Lead installation, commissioning, and maintenance of solar PV and mini-grid systems
- Supervise PV array installation, inverter configuration, and AC/DC distribution
- Oversee operations & maintenance (O&M) including fault analysis, load balancing, and preventive checks
- Ensure compliance with MNRE, IEC, and electrical safety standards
- Review and validate electrical drawings, site layouts, and Bill of Materials (BoM)
- Coordinate with vendors, central engineering teams, and site technicians
- Monitor system performance, uptime, and efficiency using dashboards, meters, or loggers
- Train and mentor local technicians on safety, troubleshooting, and best practices
- Identify technical risks and implement corrective and preventive actions
Required Technical Skills- Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, mini-grids, and electrical infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with inverters (Hybrid / MPPT), battery systems (Li-ion / VRLA)
- Proficiency in electrical design, load calculations, and schematic interpretation
- Working knowledge of LT distribution, earthing, lightning protection, and system testing
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical, MS Excel (reporting & analysis)
- Exposure to system testing, QA checklists, and commissioning documentation
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering / Renewable Energy / Power Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in solar EPC, field operations, or O&M roles
- Proven ability to manage site execution and lead small technical teams
- Understanding of industry regulations, safety norms, and renewable standards
Onboarding & Deployment Details- Initial onboarding and orientation will be conducted at the Kolkata Head Office
- Relocation and deployment to East Nagaland project sites post-onboarding
- Role requires full-time field presence and periodic inter-district travel
Preferred Profile- Experience in solar EPC, rural electrification, or mini-grid projects
- Field leadership and stakeholder coordination capability
- Comfortable working in remote and site-intensive environments
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
