Role Description The Electrical and Instrumentation Design Engineer will work full time on-site in Tiruchirappalli, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to design and develop electrical and instrumentation systems for industrial projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and layouts for electrical and instrumentation systems, and ensuring designs comply with relevant standards, codes, and safety requirements. The engineer will review client requirements, perform technical calculations, select appropriate equipment and instruments, and support procurement with technical documentation. The role also involves coordinating with project managers, construction teams, and vendors, resolving design issues during installation and commissioning, and updating documentation based on field feedback. The engineer will participate in design reviews, support quality checks, and contribute to continuous improvement of design practices and templates.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in electrical system design, instrumentation design, and the development of detailed engineering drawings and layouts.
- Candidates should possess skills in preparing technical specifications, performing load and cable sizing calculations, and selecting electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and safety regulations for electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in engineering design software and CAD tools commonly used for electrical and instrumentation design.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills for working with project managers, construction teams, and vendors.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Experience in industrial projects such as oil and gas, power plants, or process industries will be beneficial.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, single-line diagrams, loop diagrams, and control schematics, along with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, will be advantageous.
